Inquisitor by Mitchell Hogan is a fast paced, very enthralling stand alone sic-fi novel. The setting takes place on several different worlds, all of which have essentially been settled by corrupt corporations. Throughout the novel, the two main characters, Charlotte and Angel, travel intergalactically to different worlds, all the while trying to solve the mysteries behind these big corporations and what they are actually doing behind closed doors. This book is full of action, high-tech theories, and basic human plights.
The reason I gave it three stars was mostly due to how stringent the characters were. I just could not begin to like Angel, and definitely not Charlotte. Despite what she went through, I really couldn't feel sorry for her. I also would've liked to read more history on the geneovoles. I feel like Mr. Hogan could've expanded on that and made the story easier to understand.
I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway. Thanks to Mr. Hogan for allowing me to read it!
